This is the official website of the Pretty Lake Association (Mecosta, Michigan). This site will be updated as needed and, hopefully, replace the need for our newsletter, "Pretty Lake Reflections", thereby saving your P.L.A. dues and being able to increase frequency and efficiency of relevant communication. If you have any news to share, please send an e-mail to the webmaster: clossell @ gmail.com (no spaces) Any questions not pertaining to this website should be directed to a P.L.A. Board Member (see "Contacts" link above).
Just a reminder...........
We're hoping to see all of you at the Pretty Lake Association meeting July 4th at 9:30 AM we’ll be serving hot, fresh donuts, coffee and juice starting at 9:00 AM. The meeting will be on the shores of Pretty Lake at 16305 Pretty Lake Dr, yellow cottage, yellow garage, almost to the end of Pretty Lake Drive. We’ll fry lots of donuts so bring the whole gang!
With the coming 4th of July weekend we can expect Pretty Lake to be very busy with residents and their guests. We’ve been fortunate over the past years enjoying fun filled safe holidays. Please remind your family and your guests to observe the following courtesies.
The speed limit on Pretty Lake Drive is 25 mph. Keep our kids, adults and pets safe by limiting your speed.
Remind all that high speed boating may only proceed in a counter-clockwise direction on Pretty Lake. High speed is permitted only from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
While boating, maintain a distance of at least 100 feet from swimmers, other boats and docks.
Sound travels quite a distance at night, over the water, please be considerate of your neighbors by keeping the noise down and the language clean around your campfire.
We love the fireworks displays around the lake. Thanks to all who help us celebrate the 4th in such grand style. Small children, pets and seniors, as well as many of the rest of us, would be grateful though, if displays could be wrapped up around 11:00 PM.
The boat parade is scheduled for 7:30 PM, July 4th. Details may be found on our website. Please register with us at the association meeting the morning of July 4th. We’ll be giving you a number to help the judges reward the right boats. The theme this year is of your favorite college or university. Last year’s boat parade entries were wonderful, we think this year will be better. Attached you’ll find a form the judges will be using to evaluate the entries. Good Luck. We'll list the winners and post lots of pictures on our website and on Facebook.
